Enemies of Metal Beware: 3 Inches of Blood is Teasing Something for 2024

Eight years after their untimely demise, it looks like Vancouver-based trad metal outfit 3 Inches of Blood are teasing a comeback on their Facebook page. In all actuality, we don’t know much about what they’re teasing but they just posted an image of five silhouettes and a logo with ‘2024’ under it, so my guess is we’ll be at least hearing more from the band next year.

For those that don’t know, 3 Inches of Blood fucking ripped back in the day, with five full-length albums under their belt that were chock full of songs extolling the virtues of true heavy metal and how its enemies must die by their blade. Their single “Deadly Sinners,” off of the 2004 album Advance and Vanquish, was even used in three video games in the early 2000s (Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, Saints Row 2, and Brütal Legend). Sadly, the band announced their breakup in June 2015 and played their final two shows at the Commodore Ballroom back on November 7 and 8, 2015.

Even though we don’t necessarily know exactly what this is hinting at, we do know that there’s a possibility that the lineup that played the band’s final two shows could be involved. Which would be wild because drummer Ash Pearson has since joined Revocation and they’re working on some new shit at the moment. In fact, over the years various members have gone on to work in other projects along the way.

Still, the bio on the band’s Instagram account has been updated with what looks like that lineup. If accurate, then it looks like the band could be returning with Cam Pipes on vocals, Shane Clark on lead guitar, Justin Hagberg on rhythm guitar, Nick Cates on bass, and Pearson behind the kit.

So yeah. If they’re coming back onto the scene, then color me stoked. These guys always kicked serious amounts of ass and inspired many circle pits, so if this really is heralding a reunion of some kind, it’s going to be bad ass.
