Alo Bandz Murder: Two Teenage Suspects Arrested In Connection To Rapper’s Death

Alo Bandz was tragically murdered back in February — and now, two teenagers have been arrested in connection to his death.

On Thursday (April 6), The San Diego Tribune reported that 19-year-old Julian James Vargas of San Diego and another unnamed 14-year-old boy had been arrested in connection to the murder of rising rap star Alo Bandz (real name César Eduardo López-Sandoval).

San Diego police lieutenant Adam Sharki dropped the news in a press release, where he also revealed both suspects were arrested about six miles away from the crime scene.

While Vargas is expected to be arraigned on April 10 in San Diego Superior Court, the 14-year-old — whose name was not released due to the fact he’s a juvenile — is currently being held in Juvenile Hall.

Details surrounding the murder of Alo Bandz are still being investigated. However, what’s known so far is that on February 19, the “Spazz Out” rapper was discovered by police with bullets in his upper torso.

And although the rapper was immediately rushed to the hospital upon his discovery, he died shortly after he arrived.

Additionally, investigators have revealed that prior to getting shot, Alo Bandz had a “confrontation” with two people — and based on surveillance video and eyewitness accounts, the two people are allegedly Vargas and the 14-year-old teenager.

Alo Bandz’s murder was initially not made public by the police, according to Fox 5 San Diego. The outlet, however, got word of the rapper’s death from a relative of his, who provided the statement on behalf of the family in Spanish (which was translated to English by the outlet).

TakeOff: Woman Who Was Shot During Rapper’s Murder Speaks Out

“As of yesterday (Sunday), we’ve mourned the loss of our nephew Eduardo, I feel very bad for his parents,” read the statement. “I feel very bad for his dad. It’s been one year since they lost their other son, today (Monday), it’s their other son Eduardo. I feel so bad for them, all of the aunts, cousins, nephews, all of us feel terrible for the loss of Eduardo,” the female relative said. “Eduardo, we knew him as Lalo, we are very sad.”

Subsequently, vigils were held at the North Clairemont Recreation Center — the murder scene — to honor Alo Bandz’s life.

Although the motive for the murder has not yet been determined, friends of the late rapper suspect that it was an ambush.

“I don’t know the situation specifically but I believe it could have been a setup,” claimed Alo Bandz’s cousin, Patricia Martinez, speaking to NBC 7 San Diego.
