World of Tanks’ Metal Fest to End with Iron Maiden Tie-In

If you’re a fan of military sims and metal, you’re going to want to pay attention to this bit of news, as Iron Maiden and Wargaming are teaming up to up the irons in World of Tanks Modern Armor. Done as part of the company’s ongoing “Metal Fest,” the band’s iconic mascot Eddie joins the game as a digital commander weeks after Megadeth’s Vic Rattlehead enlisted.

Closing out the event, Iron Maiden are going to have their logo emblazoned on tanks in the game. It’s all part of a “three-act in-game music event,” which featured Sabaton in Act 1 and Megadeth in Act 2. Iron Maiden is now being considered the “headliner” for Act 3.

From now until October 3, players can work to unlock special Iron Maiden-branded rewards, including a Senjutsu-themed TO-55 flamethrower tank and a special tank based on A Matter of Life and Death that’s exclusive to the game for this event.

Additionally, fans can get Eddie as a 3D Hero commander in game, complete with a unique voiceover. As if that wasn’t enough ,there will be “14 different Eddie 2D Standard Commanders to collect” based on all the Iron Maiden album covers.

In addition to the Maiden-styled tank skins, players can listen to “Brighter Than a Thousand Suns” and “The Writing on the Wall” while in their tank garage, but only if you own the aforementioned tanks.

World of Tanks Modern Armor is a free-to-play team-based game available solely on consoles, so that means it’s available on the PlayStation 4 and 5, the Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X.
