Reader Poll: Are Reunions Cool Anymore?

Earlier today, the news broke out that Slayer was coming back despite members not talking since 2019 and their final show being billed as the very last one forever and ever. It was a return that while completely shocking to some of us, really shouldn’t be given how bands like Black Sabbath, Mötley Crüe, and KISS have handled their retirements.

Yet when we posted that story, the reaction from you guys has been a mixed bag, to say the least. Some people were stoked, while others complained that it was a money grab or that Slayer was selling out. Honestly, it felt like a lighter version of the conversation we were all having about the Pantera “reunion,” though that discussion is different since Slayer at least continued for a number of years after Jeff Hanneman’s passing.

Regardless, we wanted to see exactly how our readers felt. So from now until March 1, we want you guys to tell us exactly how you feel in the polls below. It’s a pretty simple question, so we expect you guys to chime in. We’ll also be monitoring your comments via social media to see what people really think about this topic.

Do you like when a band reunites?
Should a band ever reunite without its original members?
Do you plan on seeing a reunited band perform in 2024?
