Infectious Grooves Recruit Ex-Slipknot Drummer Jay Weinberg for Upcoming Australian Tour
He may still be recovering from hip and leg surgery, but former Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg has committed to joining Infectious Grooves for their upcoming Australian Tour. Weinberg will be filling in for Avenged Sevenfold‘s Brooks Wackerman, who handles drumming duties for the funky supergroup.
According to the band, Wackerman won’t be able to join Infectious Grooves down under due to a scheduling conflict with Avenged Sevenfold shows. As such, news of Weinberg’s involvement came in an Instagram post earlier today, where they explained a whole laundry list of new and exciting things coming from the band.

Drummer for IG is definitely not an easy gig to fill.

Rounding out the band, on guitar will be a bit of reunion. Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver etc) played on some of the first IG album.
He’ll be reuniting with IG for these dates also. Dave is a good friend and we are all looking forward to getting on stage and having a blast, and giving a big dose of the Infectious Grooves!Warning number Five… (yes, we skipped warning number 4, we’ll save that for later, lol)…

As of right now, the band’s only date is a planned appearance at the Bluesfest in Byron Bay on April 1. We’ll have to wait and see how many shows down under Jay will be a member of Infectious Grooves.
