“How Many Tears to Nurture a Rose?” Watch Cradle of Filth’s New Video to Find Out
If you’re a Cradle of Filth fan, or even a casual observer of the band, you know that dark, sexy fantasy is their bread and butter. So you won’t be surprised to watch their new video and see that it involves a lot of satanic-looking women touching each other’s faces.
The video, for the band’s song “How Many Tears to Nurture A Rose,” tells the story of…well, the narrative isn’t exactly the clearest this time around, but what matters is, it’s packed with a lot of intense imagery. There’s a red woman with claws and dead eyes spitting blood into the mouth of a white-clad woman who does a lot of contorting. There’s a knight literally hitting a devil with a cross. There’s zombie-looking dude tangled up in thorns who gets some jump-cut zoom-ins throughout the video. It’s all very cinematic, even if the story seems to be, Goddesses gonna goddess, and satanism is sexier than other beliefs. It’s what you want from a Cradle video if you like this band, and a lot of window dressing if you don’t.
