Hacktivist’s Jot Maxi Quit the Band After Finding the “Truth Within Christianity”

An unexpected turn of events has taken place within the rap metal outfit Hacktivist, as their vocalist Jot Maxi took to social media to announce that he was stepping down from the band, ending his six year stint with the group.

According to his post, a big turning point was the pandemic in 2020, at which point he “found the truth within Christianity.”

“This truly was a pain-staking decision, which is why it took so long to make, but I’ve known for some time now that it would be best for everyone involved if I step down as vocalist for Hacktivist.

“With the rest of the gang based in various cities across the UK and me living in the South of France, it was never geographically, financially, and most importantly artistically ideal for us to make plans, movements and music together as a band. I had hoped to stay on board for at least one more album, but I feel that it just wouldn’t be fair for H or for our supporters if we continue at this pace, when things could potentially be much more free-flowing if I step aside to make room for a new dynamic.

“There are of course other personal factors leading to this final decision, most notably that during 2020 I found the truth within Christianity, and as a result my priorities, ego, and lyrical content shifted greatly and continue to do so. All else aside, I’m pleased to be able to say that I’m parting on good terms with the band and that I genuinely love each one of these boys.

“I will be tuned in to whatever comes next for Hacktivist and I urge all of you to do the same, as I still believe just as I always did, that this band has a vast scope and massive potential. As for me, I have already released solo material this year and I have no intention of stopping, it goes without saying that I’m also endlessly grateful for your continued support.

“I will never forget the hundreds of H concerts I played across dozens of countries, and most of all the thousands of you I got to meet. I’m proud to have been able to play a part in the Hacktivist legacy. Thank you.”

The band is slated to play the UK Tech-Metal Fest this Friday and at this point, the band has simply stated that a “new era of Hacktivist begins this weekend.” We’ll see what that means.
