Ghost Might Be Bringing Back Their Dildo Box Set This Friday

If you’ve ever wanted to fuck yourself with a plastic representation of Papa Emeritus, but you missed out on Ghost‘s original Phallos Mortuus Ritual Box Set, then you might just be in luck this Friday. Over on Ghost’s Facebook and Instagram pages, the band posted a simple video hinting that a new 10 year anniversary edition of the fabled set could be coming.

Though the video is simply titled “We wish to inform you,” the 24 second clip clearly shows what looks like a piece of merch that’s supposed to look like a leather bound tome. What originally looks like a special 10 year anniversary edition of the band’s second album Infestissumam, if you catch a quick glimpse of the item’s spine, you clearly see the words “Phallos Mortuus” emblazoned in gold lettering.

In fact, Rockabilia already hinted at it being an exclusive on their store, tweeting that they were releasing “Seven Inches of Satanic Panic. Literally.” at 12 p.m. CST this Friday.

As you can see in the original item image below, the first iteration of the product wasn’t black, but rather had a brown leather look to it, along with the Ghost B.C. logo on the spine. With only 250 of these items sold, this special set included a black Papa dildo, a metal butt plug with the band’s logo on the flared base, and a a “divorce scroll” with a foil Ghost emblem to serve to your significant other. Because you know, your orifices are only for Papa now, or something. The box was also lined in red velvet, so it had at least an air of classiness to it.

The original set also came with a t-shirt, which I’m sure confused some people when they were ordering it and had to choose between a Men’s small, medium, large, etc. since I’m sure some people thought that meant the size of the… erm… phallus.

Though this is currently just speculation, I wouldn’t be surprised if this set was similar in nature, though it’s important to note that the original version didn’t have Infestissumam written on the cover, so maybe this is supposed to only look like that set and actually be a very late 10th anniversary edition of the record.

This wouldn’t be the first time a metal band released a set of sex toys as merch. Rammstein did it in 2009, Gwar released a fuckable Cuttlefish of Cthulhu, and Health most recently released two different types of butt plug, so there’s that too.

As for this new apparent Ghost set, if it’s just like the previous dildo box set then there might be the super expensive version and the less expensive version for $75 that only comes with the “one size fits all” dildo.

You bet your ass… or other places… that we’ll follow up on this one on Friday.
