Sexyy Red Gets Candid About Two-Time Chlamydia Diagnosis: ‘I Trusted Ah N-gga & Got Got’

Sexyy Red has no shame in her game, admitting that she was not once but twice the recipient of chlamydia over the years.

The St. Louis rapper was a guest recently on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast and was asked about her craziest lyric. After responding that it was, “Damn this n-gga burnt me/Pussy like a cig,” Red explained the real-life inspiration behind it.

“They act like this shit not going on in the world. I had chlamydia before twice. This is what happened. Me and my n-gga was together, and we broke up ‘cause he was cheating on me. Then I went and did me, and he did him. And then we missed each other, came back together. [And something wasn’t right.]

She continued: “We both was like, ‘what the fuck is that smell?’ And we want to the doctor together and yup… We still don’t know who did it.”

Sexyy Red’s raunchy Tay Keith-produced single “Pound Town” has become a viral sensation since its release in January, racking up over 15 million on-demand streams thanks to the #PoundTownChallenge. The song even caught the attention of Nicki Minaj, who hopped on the official remix in late May – much to Red’s delight.

“@nickiminaj I preciate you so much for blessin my track this is major I’m so humble and grateful,” the newcomer wrote on Instagram when she shared the collab.

As her career continued to flourish, Red also made a cameo in GloRilla’s “Lick Or Sum” music video alongside Yung Miami and collaborated with Summer Walker for “Sense Dat God Gave You.” The latter featured an accompanying visual that found the two ladies twerking in a parking lot.

Earlier this month, Sexyy Redd dropped her debut mixtape, Hood Hottest Princess. The 11-track project features Minaj’s “Pound Town 2,” though it doesn’t include the original song. Juicy J and Sukihana make guest appearances as well.
