Kid Cudi’s Next Movie Role Will Leave Fans ‘Shook’

Kid Cudi has diversified his creative portfolio, announcing that he’ll be in a new film with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson at the helm.

Deadline has reported that the rapper (real name Scott Mescudi) will be starring in a zombie flick called Hell Naw, which will also feature screenwriting by Keith and Kenny Lucas — the writers behind award-winning film Judas & The Black Messiah.

Details of the film are being kept under wraps, though the outlet reports that the film is still in the development stages. What’s more, Kid Cudi promised that his fans will be all types of messed up from seeing him in the film — in a good way, of course.

“This movie has been five years in the making. I am telling the world now, this film will fuck you up in all the best ways,” he told the publication. “I have been a horror fan since I was 7 years old, The first horror movies I ever saw were Night of the Living Dead and Evil Dead. And from that point on, I was hooked on the feeling of being frightened.”

He continued: “I’ve been wanting to get into this world creating my own stories for a long time, and now, and after years of working it out in my head, it’s finally happening. Sam, The Lucas Brothers and myself have really crafted a tale we feel everyone who’s a fan of horror and comedy will enjoy. You will laugh, oh yes you will, but the horror aspect of this movie will really be something to see. You will be shook. I promise. Y’all know I don’t play around.”

While Kid Cudi first made his name in the world of Hip Hop, he’s been getting more into film and television making as of late.

On Tuesday (April 18), it was announced that the “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper was cast in the new Paramount+ series Knuckles, the main antagonist in the popular Sega video game Sonic the Hedgehog.

Knuckles will follow the popular character of the same name on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.

Taking to Instagram on April 17 to share the news, Kid Cudi posted a screenshot of a Deadline story along with the caption: “When life has more dreams for you to fulfill [happy emoji] its lit #knuckles @paramountplus.”

He also shared a photograph on Twitter of his cat Sweets playing with a stuffed toy version of Knuckles. “Sweets is happy and excited about the Knuckles show,” Cudi wrote.
