K Camp Returns With ‘Spend That Bag’ Following Brief Hiatus To Undergo Vocal Surgery

K Camp is officially back in the booth after taking some time off to recover from surgery to correct a vocal injury.

On Friday (December 8), the Atlanta rhymer dropped off “Spend That Bag,” a new single featuring SleazyWorld Go that serves as the lead-in to his forthcoming album, Float To London.

The latter arrives on December 22, with Camp aiming “to take listeners on a sonic journey, exploring new sounds and pushing the boundaries of his artistry,” according toa press release about the new single.

Last month, K Camp opened up about the daunting surgery in a heartfelt message to fans describing that he had developed vocal cord polyps stemming from an inflammatory reaction.

The “Money Baby” hitmaker ultimately decided to meet with a specialist when the pain didn’t subside after about two months, he shared with fans as he began his journey to recovery.

In the caption of his Instagram post, the 33-year-old wrote: “Dear fans, I wanted to share some important news. I’ll be undergoing vocal surgery in a few days. Good news is that it’s not cancerous. Your support means the world to me. Let’s pray that this doesn’t affect me or my music. Thank you for your understanding and love during this time.”

Weeks later, he revealed that his surgery had been a success and thanked the fans for their relentless support throughout the process.

“Surgery went well. Truly appreciate all the love everybody showed even tho I can’t talk I’m still hustlin,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Float To London is set to be K Camp’s first full-length release after inking a partnership with TikTok’s music distribution division in February.

The deal came on the heels of his “Lottery (Renegade)” snippet dominating TikTok as the sound felt inescapable on the platform.

Around the same time, the rapper and singer addressed the notion that he’s “fallen off” in recent years.

“I heard all that shit,” he said about those slandering his current work. “Don’t no artist wanna hear that they fell off. But you got to understand, what’s the definition of falling off. N-ggas use that term so loosely. What is falling off?

“Falling off to me is fucked up somewhere under a bridge with no paper, with a box saying: ‘Can I get some food?’ That’s falling off.”

He continued: “When n-ggas speak in the aspect of falling off in music, like they don’t hear you on the radio, they don’t see you visually, it’s not falling off. Every player got an off-season … You got to go back to practice, you got to go out and get back in the gym and get your skill set up and come back out.”
