Jadakiss Admits He Still Suffers From Performance Anxiety: ‘Every Show’

Jadakiss has been in the Hip Hop game for many years and has performed countless live shows, but he still gets the pre-show jitters every time he gets onstage.

That’s what he recently admitted to in an interview with Hot 97‘s DJ Enuff in an episode of GOAT Talk, which aired on Wednesday (June 21).

“I catch butterflies at every show,” he told the New York City radio legend. “No matter which caliber, which city, no matter where I’m at.”

Enuff then said that these pre-show jitters were indicative of how much he cared for his craft — an assessment to which Jadakiss agreed.

“Facts,” he said. “Every show, there’s some butterflies before you gotta go out there.”

Despite his own pre-show concerns, Jadakiss has always been the first to give respect to the up-and-comers, as he recently demonstrated when he showed love to Symba, praising the Bay Area rapper for his lyrical skillset.

The “Never End Up Broke” rapper shared a video of himself and the New York rap icon embracing backstage at one of this weekend’s BET Awards events.

“They don’t make ’em like you, baby,” Kiss told Symba. “They don’t make ’em like you. I love it, baby. Dog, you one of dem ones.”

Celebrities including LeBron James, Busta Rhymes, and Jay Rock headed to the post’s comments section and showed some love to both men.

Despite Jadakiss being one of his biggest inspirations from a lyrical standpoint, Symba has been on a tear of his own over the past 12 months.

He recently dropped a freestyle over 2Pac’s “Keep Ya Head Up,” instrumental to honor Juneteenth and the 50th year of Hip Hop in partnership with Apple Music.

I know you fed up/ And life won’t let you keep ya leg up/ But when it all falls down my n-gga, keep ya head up/ I remember having trouble tryna’ get my bread up/ Feeling like God let me down/ But I never let up/ We made it through the struggle, bills late playing catch up/ Always had hotdogs, but couldn’t keep ketchup,” he raps over the bass heavy instrumental.
