Gunplay’s Wife Says She Can’t Divorce Rapper Due To Florida Laws: ‘I’m Stuck’

Gunplay‘s wife has provided an alarming update regarding the state of their tumultuous relationship.

On Saturday (September 2) the rapper’s wife, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, took to Instagram Live where she can be seen offering news on the status of her divorce filing with Gunplay (real name Richard Morales Jr.).

“I filed for divorce. He would not sign divorce papers. So, I’m stuck,” she began in a capture of the clip posted by DJ Akademiks; before educating listeners on Florida laws which have placed her in quite a predicament.

“Unfortunately in the state of Florida, I cannot divorce him without his permission. Unless he goes to jail convicted or he’s a mental institution patient.”

“He do love you. I love him. That’s my best friend. But, unfortunately, sometimes you have to let the person you love go so he can find himself. And I want him to find himself and to get help. We do have a child together so it is what it is,” she continued.

“I’m not a evil bitch. We’re not fighting. Yeah, no. We all know he has issues. He needs help. He’s going to get the help he needs. And we will co-parent. That’s all we want to do.”

Late last month, Gunplay was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, false imprisonment, and child abuse after he allegedly pointed a rifle at his wife and six-month-old baby.

In the days that would follow, Taylor-Morales would reveal what caused the rapper to come unhinged.

“This entire situation is sickening….. that live you guys are trying to use as the event is FALSE. That is his studio in our laundry room. Two entire different situations and events. The video game is in our bedroom. Tensions been high in the house, I’ve been fed up with a lot of stuff.

“I was already looking for a divorce in June. He was begging me not to leave. He said he would do therapy and I tried it. He went to one session and never did it again,” she began of Gunplay’s efforts — or lack thereof — to save their marriage.

“Do you guys understand how unhinged he was to break a porcelain sink after I left!!!!,” she continued, referencing a photo in the attached carousel, featuring a broken porcelain sink she alleged her husband damaged.

“If he didn’t do anything and I’m ‘exaggerating’ why the hell did he reach out to a lawyer asking for a bond in the midst of all this drama? That’s a innocent person? He in jail contacting my friends and family trying to have me drop the charges. Now he in jail having HIS friends talk to me and about me online CRAZY.”

She added: “I hope the justice system doesn’t fail another black woman and child. If they do, he still will NEVER be able to be around me or my child. It doesn’t matter however y’all spin it. Pulling a gun out on your family and then choking a child in the midst is UNACCEPTABLE.”

Meanwhile, HotNewHipHop has since reported that Taylor-Morales has obtained a restraining order against Gunplay as she continues to navigate the ongoing situation.
