Fat Joe Called Out By Kevin Durant Over Claim He Got ‘Chased Out’ Of Rucker Park

Fat
Joe

has
been
accused
of
lying
by
Kevin
Durant
after
he
claimed
the
NBA
superstar
was
“chased
out”
of
Rucker
Park
after
a
pickup
game.

Speaking
on
the
podcast

Roomates
Show
,
hosted
by
New
York
Knicks
stars
Jalen
Brunson
and
Josh
Hart,
the
Terror
Squad
rapper
recalled
the
tense
atmosphere
when
KD
put
on
a
dominant
display
at
the
famed
New
York
City
basketball
court.

“Kevin
Durant
scored
like
82
points
in
the
third
quarter.
He
don’t
like
me
telling
this
story,”
he
said.
“They
chased
him
out
the
Rucker,
like
they
wanted
to
beat
him
up.
He
whipped
their
ass
so
bad
that
they
wanted
to
literally
beat
him
up
out
there.

“He
was
doing
almost
like
the
Caitlin
Clark
show.
Woosh!
Do
a
three,
from
the

other

side
of
the
court

not
half
court.
I
was
there
at
the
game.
They
passed
it
to
him
and
five
guys
would
go
like
this
[imitates
blocking
a
shot]
and
he
was
hitting
them
shits
like
water.”

He
added:
“They
chased
him
into
the
truck,
he
had
to
go!”

The
former
NBA
MVP
quickly
called
cap
on
Joe’s
comments,
writing
on
X:
“Another
podcast
lie.
It
was
nothing
but
respect
and
love
out
there
that
night,
didn’t
feel
unsafe
for
one
second.”

However,
Joe
doubled
down
on
his
claim
and
responded:
“I
was
there
he
knows
I’m
not
lying
62
points
in
3
quarters
why
was
the
game
stopped
it’s
all
love
all
i
did
was
big
him
up
‘GREATEST
STORY
TELLER
IN
THE
GAME.’”

Kevin
Durant
played
at
the
Rucker
during
the
NBA
lockout
season
of
2011,
participating
in
the
Entertainers
Basketball
Classic
tournament.

The
two-time
NBA
champion

reportedly

scored
66
points
to
lead
his
team
to
a
99-93
win,
shooting
9-for-11
from
three-point
range.

Despite
Fat
Joe’s
version
of
events,
Durant

tweeted

after
the
game:
“No
lie,
jus
had
one
of
the
best
times
of
my
life
at
Rucker
park..wow!
I
love
NY…Harlem
waddup.”

Footage
of
the
game
also
shows
the
6-foot-11
forward
being
enthusiastically
mobbed
by
fans
after
sinking
a
fifth
straight
three-pointer,
although
there
was
no
indication
he
was
about
to
be
jumped,
as
Joe
claimed.

“At
halftime
we
were
like,
‘We
got
to
press
him,
because
if
we
don’t,
he
is
going
to
heat
up,’”
former
Seton
Hall
player
Jeremy
Hazell,
who
was
guarding
Durant
during
the
game,

said
.
“That’s
what
he
did.
He
heated
up.
It
was
just
a
great
game,
a
great
atmosphere.”

This
is
not
the
first
time
that
Fat
Joe
has
been
accused
of
lying.
Last
year,

Joe
Budden
disputed
the
“Lean
Back”
rapper’s
comments

that
he’s
just
a
family
man
playing
the
part
of
a
“gangster”
in
the
studio.

“First
of
all,
Fat
Joe
is
lying

that’s
number
one.
Fat
Joe
is
lying.
That
is
a
lie,”
Budden
said
on
his
self-titled
podcast.
“So
he’s
making
up
a
lie
to
clean
it?
Don’t
do
that!
Cuz
nobody
even
said
nothing!

“Fat
Joe
said
that
his
name
Joey
Crack
comes
from
back
in
the
day.
When
he
would
stand
up,
the
homegirls

when
he
got
up,
his
ass
crack
would
show,
so
they
used
to
call
him
Joey
Crack.
That’s
weird.”

Joe
had
previously
admitted
he
lied
on
95
percent
of
his
songs

when
criticizing
the
use
of

Young
Thug
‘s
lyrics
in
his
RICO
trial.
