Eminem Stan Breaks Guinness World Record With 15 Portrait Tattoos Of Slim Shady

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word Stan as “an extremely or excessively enthusiastic and devoted fan” — and of course, it all started with Eminem. Following the 2000 hit “Stan,” which chronicles the life of an obsessed fan, the word ultimately made its way into popular slang and was added to the dictionary in April 2019.

Earlier this week, a 35-year-old Scotland woman named Nikki Patterson shared an Instagram post showing off 15 tattoos dedicated to her idol Slim Shady. She added a sixteenth portrait tattoo in March.

According to the BBC, Patterson broke the Guinness World Record for having the highest number of tattoos depicting the same musician on her body.

Patterson — or “crazyenimenlady” as she’s known on Instagram — was 19 when she got her first tattoo of Eminem. Sixteen years later, she now has a total of 52 tattoos, 28 of which are dedicated to Shady.

“I heard ‘Stan’ when I was 14 and had never heard anything like that before,” she told the BBC. “It blew me away. “The portraits began three years ago, and I loved everything about them. I adored them and had to get more. He’s been the one constant in my life, and I have seen him perform live.”

Eminem’s “Stan” Slang Officially Added To Merriam-Webster Dictionary

The nail technician approached Guinness World Records during lockdown, not long after the COVID-19 pandemic began. After a thorough evidence checking process, the world record of 15 was confirmed.

The tattoos were completed by three different body artists in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Chester, Scotland and include her arms, legs, chest and fingers.
