Conway The Machine Lives Up To His Name With Wheelchair-Bound Recording Session

Conway The Machine is known for churning out music while maintaining a high standard as far as quality goes, and he’s once again demonstrated that he is built differently.

On Monday (June 14), the former Griselda rapper shared an update with fans almost a month after revealing that he had suffered a severe leg fracture and wouldn’t be able to go out on his Won’t He Do It tour.

Taking to Instagram, Conway shared an image and caption initially composed by photographer Steve Nova, who wrote: “Today I watched this man get wheeled out the hospital after another surgery. Carried into his house. And IMMEDIATELY start recording.

“The anesthesia hadn’t even fully wore off yet. There’s a reason they call him the Machine. And there’s a reason he’s made it this far in his career.”

Conway The Machine also added a clip of him mumbling into a microphone as a beat plays into his headphones. Judging from the video, his anesthesia had in fact not worn off before he decided to get back to work.

In May, Conway announced that he was forced to postpone his Won’t He Do It tour due to the leg injury. The news came just four days prior to the trek’s kickoff in Chicago, but he assured fans that he would make it up to them soon.

In an Instagram post at the time, the Buffalo rapper revealed that he had a fractured right tibia. “Anyone that knows me knows there’s nothing I love to do more than bein up on that stage!” he wrote. “I can’t lie I’m super disappointed that I have to postpone the WHDi tour for a little bit, because I was really looking forward to goin on those stages and rocking this WHDI shit for y’all live.”

He added: “However I am in good spirits and I’m only looking at it as just a minor lil setback for a MAJOR COMEBACK! No stress!!”

The Buffalo rapper recently posted a video of himself standing upright in the hospital and taking steps with the assistance of a walker and the nurses on hand. Stitched into the video was the chorus from 50 Cent’s 2003 Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ album cut, “Gotta Make It To Heaven.”

I gotta make it to Heaven for going through Hell/ I gotta make it to Heaven, I hope I make it to Heaven,” Fif raps over the infectious beat, speaking to Conway’s desire to overcome going through the “hell” of breaking his leg and dislocating his knee.

Once Conway gets back on his feet, he’s expected to announce updates on his deferred North American tour. In the meantime, new music from him can never be ruled out considering his prolific track record. In May, he released his third studio album, Won’t He Do It.
