Snail Mail and Thurston Moore Cover Lou Reed’s “Satellite of Love”: Watch

Snail Mail’s Lindsey Jordan and Thurston Moore joined forces for a new Fender campaign, where they covered the Lou Reed classic “Satellite of Love,” Stereogum reports. They help launch the Vintera II series with Jordan playing a ’60s Stratocaster and Moore playing a ’70s Jaguar. Watch it happen below.

“It was a huge pleasure to get to fan out about Lou Reed with one of my favorite guitar players of all time,” Jordan said in the company’s press release. “The guitar that I learned to play on when I was six was a mini-Stratocaster and it always feels like second nature to get one in my hands.”

The series also includes the trio of Josh Klinghoffer (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Steve McDonald (Redd Kross), and Nick Reinhart playing the Beatles’ “I Want You (She’s So Heavy).” Another features Madison Cunningham playing “I Only Have Eyes for You” with Wendy Melvoin (Prince & the Revolution, Wendy & Lisa).

Moore recently released his new memoir Sonic Life. Jordan’s last Snail Mail album was 2021’s Valentine.
