Animated Video: Rob Zombie Discusses His Bonkers New Album Title With Wife Sheri Moon Zombie
The Zombies, Rob and Sheri Moon, have released a new video in which they discuss the completely bonkers title of Rob’s upcoming album, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy.
Zombie’s album titles used to have relatively simple, easy-to-remember names, like Hellbilly Deluxe, The Sinister Urge, and Educated Horses.
That all changed after 2010’s Hellbilly Deluxe 2, at which point he seemingly started trying to up himself for lengthy, mostly nonsensical titles: Lunar Injection was preceded by Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor (2013) and The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser (2016).
In the video, Zombie says that although the titles sound like, y’know, complete and total gobbledygook, they’re actually, uh, not.
After asserting a hatred for multiple albums having the same title (like, say, Hellbilly Deluxe and Hellbilly Deluxe 2?), Zombie says:
“I don’t string crazy stuff together, even though it sounds like it… well, I mean, maybe I do, but… I spend a long time on the title, and it changes constantly.”
He continues:
“As random as it may all seem I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out… hopefully when you’re done listening to the record, what may sound like nonsense before you hear the music after you’ve heard all the music you can think to yourself, ‘Well, of course. The only thing this album could have been called is The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy.’”
