Benny The Butcher, Funkmaster Flex & More To Honor Black History Month During Brooklyn Nets Home Games
Bro – The Brooklyn Nets will ring in Black History Month during their five home games at Barclays Center in February by honoring the legacy of Black leaders from various industries, and Benny The Butcher and Funkmaster Flex will make an appearance.
Set to kick off when the Nets face the Celtics on Tuesday (February 8), the Stellar Award-nominated Gospel musical group The Group Fire will perform both the national anthem and their song “Lift, Every Voice & Sing,” with The Butcher then taking over the court to perform at halftime.
The celebrations will then continue on Valentine’s Day (February 14) when R&B crooner Felicia Temple, a former contestant from NBC reality show The Voice who’s also a healthcare worker, will sing the national anthem before the Nets honor Black pioneers in healthcare. On Thursday (February 17), The Jones Boys will stop by to sing the national anthem, and Funkmaster Flex will perform a specially curated halftime DJ set.
In addition to ringing in Black History Month with some serious pride, Benny The Butcher will also celebrate the month of February with the release of his highly-anticipated project Tana Talk 4. DJ Premier confirmed Tana Talk‘s fourth entry is set for release on February 11, though Benny himself hasn’t yet confirmed the date.

The Butcher kickstarted the Tana Talk 4 rollout last week when he dropped “Johnny P’s Caddy” featuring J. Cole. The Alchemist-produced track found the pair celebrating their hustle to the top, with Cole ultimately crowning himself the “best rapper alive.”
The album serves as the follow-up to 2018’s Tana Talk 3, which snagged Benny The Butcher a management deal with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation.
