Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion Share BTS Footage From Their ‘WAP’ Video Shoot

When fans just see the finished product to a music video, they can overlook all of the work it took to bring the visual to life.

With Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s racy “WAP” visual compiling more than 183 million views in just over a month since its release, Cardi gave fans a peek into her creative vision and how much of a team effort it took to pull this off with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage on Wednesday (September 9).

The nine-minute clip covers two days of shooting on July 3 and July 6. The first goes into Cardi and her team learning the choreography to what we now know as the “WAP” dance that’s taken social media by storm, while the second shows off one of the final days on set wrapping up the Colin Tilley-directed video.

Cardi reportedly spent $100,000 in coronavirus testing to ensure the safety of everyone working the video shoot, as they worked against the buzzer with California further restricting gatherings right around the 4th of July. Cardi genuinely seems to be a joy to be around, as she was very hands-on with the entire process, making sure everything goes off without a hitch.

The highlight has to be Meg and Cardi getting acquainted with the live snakes used in a scene, which finds the Bronx rapper to be much more nervous around the reptiles than Meg, who keeps her cool with an Albino Burmese Python around her neck. Even Offset makes an appearance to show his wife some support.

“WAP” is holding strong on the Billboard Hot 100, as it currently occupies the No. 2 slot behind BTS’ “Dynamite.” The conversation-starting track will serve as the lead single heading into Cardi B’s highly-anticipated sophomore album.
